BSB at Jingleball Chicago!

Hi fellow BSB fans. I know it’s been quite a while since I’ve updated this blog and I was itching to do so and thought now is the time.

I wanted to update you on the Kiss 103.5 Jingle Ball concert that I went to on Wednesday, December 14th. Of course the only reason I went was to see BSB! The main act was considered Ariana Grande…I say considered because I think that spot should have belonged to our guys. Some of the other acts were: Ellie Goulding, Tove Lo, Lucas Graham, Daya, Hailee Steinfeld, and Niall Horan.

It was really fun to go and I love these types of concerts. I’ve been to rock, pop, country, and classical concerts and for me, pop concerts are the best, especially when BSB are there! I was anticipating most of the other acts too though, just because they have their hits on the radio and listen to a lot of their songs while I’m at the gym.

Hailee Steinfeld had a good, live voice. Sometimes they sound great on the record but sound terrible live and Hailee sounded impressive. I love her song, “Starving!” It is such a catchy, perfect pop song. She seems like a sweetheart too.

Hailee Steinfeld
Daya was also enjoyable because she has quite a few hits, including “Don’t Let Me Down,” “Sit Still Look Pretty,” and “Hide Away.” I remember thinking she didn’t sound as good to me as Steinfeld, but was a fun set to see performed live.

Daya
Lucas Graham really impressed me. He sounded spectacular live and I absolutely love his song “7 Years” and listened to it on repeat when it first came out. He mentioned he is up for some Grammys and I was happy to hear that because I think he’s deserving of that honor. I thought his band was the most lively and fun and I love the uniqueness and quality of both his voice and lyrics. Not saying he’s ugly or anything, but he isn’t the typical pop stud you see out there on the scene and that’s refreshing. If only we could apply that to our pop princesses. A great voice is exactly that and doesn’t need the prettiest faces in either gender. For some reason, he gave me a Bruno Mars’ type vibe and I certainly didn’t mind that.

I think Niall Horan from One Direction was next. He got the most screams and it was amusing to me to see that the boyband love transcends generations. If I ever have a girl, I can’t wait to bond over her favorite boyband member lol. Niall only had one song to sing, which I felt was a terrible let down to his fans, but I suppose it was good he sang the one. It’s called “This Town” and I remember hearing it but not knowing he was the guy that sang it. I find the song simple and sweet lyrically, but for me falls short and becomes sleepy. I do appreciate he is taking a more simplistic style to music, but it seems that the club beats get more airplay than the weepy ballads. Vocally, he sounded okay. FYI, my favorite One Direction song is “Night Changes” and I like Zayn’s solo efforts better with his single “Pillowtalk.” Too bad Niall couldn’t have sang “Night Changes” and some other One Direction hit songs by himself like BSB sometimes do with their solo endeavors.

Niall Horan

I was eager to see Tove Lo live just because Nick always says good things about her and her music. I listen to a lot of her stuff as well during workouts. I enjoyed her first hit “Talking Body” and it was fun to hear “Cool Girl” sung live as well. She struck me as the most provocative of all the acts, but didn’t necessarily turn me off. I applaud her efforts to embrace female sexuality, but remember thinking that P!nk’s approach is much more my style and it made me miss her “Truth About Love” tour that I seen in 2012. Tove Lo comes off to me as a little bit grungy. I wanted to say trashy but felt that was a little too much, although maybe not considering she took her VIP pictures with a Playboy bunny shirt on lol. With Pink, it’s more powerful and beautiful, but that’s just my take.

Tove Lo

Ellie Goulding did a good job, but for some reason fell short for me. I remember when she first emerged on the scene for dance music and really enjoyed her stuff. I still do, but other dance music is seeming to outlive her stuff lately with me. I liked how there was pink confetti falling down at the end of “Love Me Like You Do” and admittingly, made me think of some of the scenes from Fifty Shades of Grey since they used that tune for the soundtrack. “Burn” was also fun to see live and I like the repetitiveness of “On My Mind.”

Ellie Goulding
Confetti!
Ariana Grande was considered the big name, but I thought she was the most disappointing. She sang two hits and some of her own Christmas songs. To be honest, I couldn’t stand her Christmas songs. They were filled with way too many sexual innuendos. I remember hearing “are you down for some of these milk and cookies” and wanted to roll my eyes. Leave that for the pop songs where they belong. I’ll stick with my traditional Christmas music, thank you. (By the way, the best Christmas songs are as follows: Mariah Carey “All I Want for Christmas Is You,” Wham! “Last Christmas,” and for something undeniably sexy…Christina Aguilera’s “Merry Christmas, Baby!”).

Ari

One other thing I must mention about Ariana Grande’s performance. She opened with “Side to Side” and even though I knew Nicki Minaj wasn’t going to be there (and I would have freaked if she was) I wanted to hear the rap sung live so bad. To me, that’s the best part of the song and gets me pumped up, “body smoking so they call me young Nicki Chimney, rappers in they feelings cause they feelin’ me, I give zero fucks and I got zero chill in me.” I do enjoy some Nicki Minaj from time to time.

So I saved The Best for last. The Backstreet Boys!!!!! Naturally, I thought they made the show. I wouldn’t have been happy if they weren’t there and would have definitely left disappointed. My only complaint is that I wish they had a longer set. I want to say they sang about five songs: “Everybody,” “Incomplete,” “We’ve Got It Goin’ On,” “Larger than Life,” and “I Want it That Way.” I wish I could have been a lot closer, but the seats were alright. I wasn’t going to pay even more to be up close when they wouldn’t be the whole show. I felt they brought the most energy and I love the dance breakdown during “We’ve Got It Goin’ On.” They had some smoke pyrotechnics, which was cool and advertised Vegas (which is only like ten weeks away…eek!) They all looked and sounded great and Nick interacted with the crowd the most. They didn’t sing either of their Christmas songs, but I think I would have rather have heard what they did anyway. It did make me excited to hear they are trying to work on a Christmas album for the future. We all know that’s been long overdue.

BSB!

LOL at the girl's face. I would have been the same way!
Crazy Nick!
The Best Group Ever!

Love this one!
The "We've Been Waiting" stance!

BSB also did a promotional appearance for the Sugar Factory in Chicago. I didn’t go, but the ice cream and burgers look incredible! There’s one in Vegas, so that could be a potential idea. I’m not sure how this event went for the fans, but I know they did take a few fan pictures, but the crowd looked sort of big. I’m missing BSB afterparties so bad! That was the best type of BSB event with the exception of an actual concert. It just felt like hanging with the guys and listening to awesome music with dancing and drinks. I loved it!

Nick, Howie, and B-rok!
"Lollipop, lollipop"
Such a promotional shot lol.

I'll have what they're having!
Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays everyone! Vegas, here we come!!!

So Much BSB News!

The title of this blog post says it all. So much BSB news! I haven't had time to update this blog, and still kind of don't, but I just had too!

I'll start with BSB's performances on iHeartRadio. Watch the full concert here. This was such a fun concert and it gives us a little taste of how the show will be in Vegas! I had my favorite moments during this performance and it was a great marketing tool to promote their Vegas residency. They also did a performance with Florida Georgia Line that was equally awesome.

I usually have a pet peeve about guys wearing pink, but they make it work lol.
Well, this points us into our next major news announcement that I'm sure everyone knows about by now...BSB in Vegas! Tickets already went on sale and they are selling out tremendously! I'll be attending the first show on March 1st and March 3rd and 4th. Beyond excited and especially since it'll be my very first time in Vegas! Can't wait to see my BSB friends and of course our five wonderful men. I plan on doing one VIP, but waiting for sale prices and for them to go on sale. Please, please, please boys...make the vip packages affordable.

Not only are the guys doing all these shows in March and June, but they have decided to do a few Christmas shows, including one in Chicago! I'll be there and decided to purchase reasonable priced seats for this one. I'm wondering if they will do vip for this event, but I think I'm going to sit that one out. Not too thrilled about the other lineups, but I'll know most of the songs. Ariana Grande is the main act, but I find her stuck up. I think I'm more excited for Ellie Goulding, but of course I wouldn't even be going if BSB weren't there.

In personal Backstreet news, AJ and Rochelle are having another baby and it'll be another girl! Yay! They are my favorite Backstreet couple. Congratulations you two love birds!

Most adorable couple ever!
In political Backstreet news, Donald Trump has been using "I Want It That Way" during his presidential rallies and BSB don't like it. Both I and AJ's mom are glad they have asked him to not play the song. Of course, I'm sure he'll play it anyway.

It's interesting to see who the guys are supporting politically, and it seems to me that all of the guys will be supporting Hillary with the exception of Brian, although, I'm just basing that on Leighanne's tweets that support Trump. He could have a different opinion than his wife's.

I also thought it was funny that AJ's mom tastefully posted a comment on Facebook saying that she met Donald Trump briefly through her son and that she noticed the whole time he was staring at AJ's girlfriend's boobs. Believable. I'm also wondering if the said girlfriend was Sarah, but he's dated a few girls with big boobs lol. Anyway, Denise has always been my favorite Backstreet Mom.

Did anyone buy the BSB emojis? I'll probably buy them eventually...before Vegas so texting will be more fun. They are cute, but I can't bring myself to pay $2 lol. I'm going to Vegas, but the $2 just sends me overboard haha. I'm weird.
Love these! Ain't no party like a Backstreet party!
If you are a member of the BSB fanclub, there is a contest to be the Backstreet Fan of the Month. They have been doing this for awhile, but this has been the first time I entered. Good luck, everyone!

I just had to tweet the guys and let them know that I can't wait to see them and got a response back! I want to believe it's Nick tweeting me back considering he seems to be the most active on social media, but it could just be Jenn too lol. Either way, always exciting!

Hope everyone is having a great start to autumn. KTBSPA!

Lou Pearlman dead at 62

Most of the BSB fandom has heard that Lou Pearlman, the man who brought together our boys, has died from a heart attack at 62. You can read the New York Times article here.

Maybe I should have used his mug shot picture.
There has been mixed emotions regarding his death. I am personally thankful that he brought together Nick, Brian, AJ, Howie, and Kevin and was able to make their dreams come true and therefore giving me my favorite group and their music.

Baby Backstreet :)
I never liked the guy and I'm certainly sure I'm not the only one, so it was bitter sweet to hear about his death because of how crappy and shady his actions were and the stories I've heard. There's no tears here that's for sure.

I'm glad that Brian was the first one out of the group to recognize that their hard work was getting taken advantage of and that it essentially led to the group being able to break free from his controlling business side. Sixth Backstreet Boy my ass. Pfft.

He always seemed like a creeper and the accusations of him getting inappropriately sexual with any of his group band members frankly makes me sick. We don't know the full story of this and I believe some other groups' band members made accusations, but I would admit that I would truly have hatred for him if I found out he did something like that to our boys.

That's really all I have to say about Pearlman. If you want to delve deeper into his crooked past, I recommend you read The Hit Charade: Lou Pearlman, Boy Bands, and the Biggest Ponzi Scheme in U.S. History by Tyler Gray. This was such an eye-opening read for me and highly entertaining because it really gave an insider's look into what BSB has had to deal with when it came to this man.

And to end this post on a high note, Florida Georgia Line released "God, Your Mama, and Me" that features BSB. I love this song! I love the message, it's catchy, and it has that element in a song that relaxes and soothes my soul.

I was disappointed to only find a brief clip of it on Billboard.com, but it's available on Itunes. It's not even on Youtube yet, just the lyrics with a different song playing in the background. Speaking of lyrics, "my love is never gonna run dry, never gonna come up empty now until the day I die, unconditionally. You know I'm always gonna be here for ya, no one's ever gonna love you more than God, your mama, and me." Ah, love songs...the best, although there is a little sadness in it for me when I hear the title.

BSB, great idea collaborating with some country artists! The country genre really does have the best lyrical content and that's what I love best about this song.

Nick with Florida Georgia Line
Still anxiously waiting for new BSB music, AJ's solo stuff, and Nick to get crackin' on that childrens' record he was talking about. I need some Nick lullaby music lol. And boys, when are we able to see your asses in Vegas? You know we want that!

BSB with Meghan Trainor and Other News

I hope everyone is enjoying their summer. I've been enjoying mine, going to a few concerts here and there. Seen Def Leppard, REO Speedwagon, and Tesla as well as the Hollywood Vampires. Johnny Depp is officially my favorite guitar player. I still want to lay out in the sun and listen to my Ipod, but so far no luck. It seems like every time I have a day off, it's been gloomy here so no tanning for me.

I feel like it's been pretty slow with BSB happenings for awhile, with the exception of BSB performing with Meghan Trainor on their music series. I really enjoyed the performance and I'm loving this series. Last night, they had Boys II Men singing Motown Philly and on the same episode with BSB they had Jewel sing with Tori Kelly and I loved that performance as well.

Nick's been doing his solo stuff in Mexico and has been periscoping about it. There's also been a few new pictures of Odin.

Lauren and Odin
Just thought I would put this one out there...
Chipotle used a BSB song for an ad and the story is so cute. Watch it here and BuzzFeed posted an article basically saying what we know about our boys already...that they are the best boy band ever and still look hot!

I also wanted to share Kevin's latest acting project, "If I Could Tell You." It's a movie about infertility.

I heard that BSB are planning to do another cruise next year in the Caribbean somewhere. I'm waiting to hear more details and still more about Vegas.

I hope to try and pack as much fun as I can in this summer because it's my favorite season and I want to make sure I enjoy every minute of it before the weather gets colder. Wishing you the same! KTBSPA!
