My BSB Cruise 2014 Review: Day Three

BSB Cruise 2014: Day Three-Sunday, October 26, 2014

The day finally came where we would be stopping at Half Moon Cay, Bahamas. This is probably one of my favorite parts of the cruise because the scenery is so beautiful. It was a plus that it was at the same island as last time because I was a bit more familiar with the area and knew what to expect.

If there is a next time for me, I would prefer going somewhere different to experience something new. I never been to Nassau and I know the BSB Cruise stopped there in the past, but that would be a nice place to explore. When filling out the cruise survey of possible places, I listed going to a Mexican/Caribbean resort with BSB as my first choice, but I would want it to be in the Caribbean and not Mexico. Or maybe even Jamaica? We'll see what ends up happening.

I do like the whole idea of an European cruise, but didn't vote for that because I'm sure the price would be very expensive and I wouldn't be able to go and sight-see because I would be focusing on everything BSB. It is my dream to visit Italy, but I would want to go there and have time to learn about my culture.

Back to BSB Cruise 2014. We had such perfect weather for Half Moon Cay and my emotions ran high watching the Show 'Em What You're Made Of Preview. The ABC (Anything But Clothes) Party was so much fun and was a bittersweet ending for BSB Cruise 2014.

Half Moon Cay, Bahamas

I got up rather early to make sure I was ready for the Bahamas. This time around, I packed my beach bag pretty well and ate some breakfast before it was time to get on the boat to get to the island. Unlike last time, I was able to arrive pretty early and the water wasn't so choppy.

I'm happy and ready to enjoy Half Moon Cay!

When I was able to step foot on Half Moon Cay, I took some pictures of the vegetation and of course of the ocean.

The Bahamian flag!

palm trees!

Where's the beach?

...with BSB!

Just like last time, I ended up staying farther away from where the games would take place, thinking after swimming in the ocean for a while I'll make my way to where the guys will be getting off their boat and onto the games. Well, I was so happy swimming that I didn't make it to where BSB was until the games were just starting. It was just so nice to swim and sunbathe. The sun felt so good and when I was swimming, a cute school of fish kept swimming back and forth by me. I felt like I was Ariel in The Little Mermaid and they were going to start singing haha!

Sun, I love you!

Carnival Ecstasy from Half Moon Cay

My absolute favorite color blue!

After soaking in as much sun as I could and enjoying the beach waves, I quickly made my way to see what the guys were up to. I ended up finding a spot to the side of the stage and thought it allowed for a nice view. It was fun watching the games because it's always so funny.

Nick and his water gun.

Just because you can't have too many pictures of Nick and his water gun ;)

Beach balls are flying!

Is it me or does this look very poetic?

AJ!

Howie!

Okay, I'll admit...this picture does something to me. So sexy!

Hi Nick!

He looks so young in this picture! Nick is Benjamin Button.

Stretching before the game!

My absolute favorite game to watch is the coconut game. It's just fun to see your favorite BSB and a fan try to get a coconut up their bodies without their hands. My eyes were all on Nick in this one lol. They fell at one point and then Nick said that it's not going to look good on the internet. It was also funny when Nick was starting to get a little frustrated and started gyrating to make it look dirty haha!

Another game that was played was egg roulette where they used a mixture of boiled and raw eggs to see who would get egg in their face. AJ ended up splatting Nick in the face with egg because Nick looked sad when he didn't get the bad egg when playing with a fan. Thank you for getting Nick, AJ! lol

Another game they played was a water balloon toss game, which looked like fun!

BSB also played two more games in the sand, which I couldn't see for the life of me. I think all the beach games should be played on the stage because it's impossible to see the games in the sand unless you are right up there. But they ended up playing slip n' slide and a game where they had to pass a beach ball to fans without using their arms and hands.

While the beach games were going on, I was lucky enough to get a picture with AJ on the island! I was so excited this happened because I never got a picture of me and one of the guys at Half Moon Cay before so it was a nice first. The fans in the vicinity were so well-behaved so that made the moment even better. Everyone waited their turn. AJ was really sweet and I was able to say thanks for the picture and he said "you're welcome," which I thought was nice he took the time to say that back instead of just moving on. Such a cool moment!

I have the 'look who I'm with' look lol. Love that he was wearing his infamous hat.

After my wonderful moment with AJ happened, I made my way for some food. Last time, I missed out on the food. The fruit was really good, but my hamburger wasn't cooked all the way and I didn't try too much of anything else. Also, I ran out of bottled water and the water tasted horrible. I swear, you can never have enough bottled water on these cruises.

I explored some more and seen some wild chickens roaming the area and seen a big snail. I took some pictures of the trail I was on and noticed the pretty pink flowers that seemed to have been everywhere. I also took a picture of the church on the island because it feels special to me.

God is everywhere.
Mama hen and her chicks.

Oh, how I miss this weather!

After finding out that since we switched days to arrive at the island that we would have to depart earlier than expected, I quickly made my way to the souvenirs since last time I didn't bring any money and just bought a Bahamas magnet shaped as a sandal with sand inside it and then made my way to the boat.

The time on the island always seems to go by so fast, probably because I'm enjoying myself so much, but it's sad to leave none-the-less. It's so hard to leave it behind, but I knew I had the Show 'Em What You're Made Of preview to look forward to!

Show 'Em What You're Made Of Preview and Q + A Group B

After going through the security procedure to get back on Carnival Ecstasy, I had some time to change and put on my "I Heart Nick Carter" tattoo.

I Heart Nick Carter!

I walked around a bit before the documentary preview was going to be shown, and I ended up seeing Nick in the casino again. This time, there were more people there and I ended up watching for a bit before I felt awkward and made my way into the Blue Sapphire Lounge.

Up until then, I hadn't seen too much of the documentary and only heard about certain parts of the film. Because of this, it was a real treat to see a bit of it. We were shown some of Kevin's part when he visited back home and of him talking about his father. It was really touching to see this scene and I'm glad they were all there for each other during the filming because it seems like it would be very hard to revisit some things in their pasts. It was really emotional for me because I could relate to some of what Kevin went through since my parents have their share of medical problems.

Just when Group B was really getting into it, the preview was over. I can't wait to see this when it comes out, which I think is supposed to be in select theaters and On Demand in January.

After the preview, we had our Q and A. I'm guessing the questions were taken from our submissions before the cruise and then the fans were asked to read them out loud. Either that or they just decided to pick random questions from the audience. Overall, the questions asked were okay and mostly about the film. It was nice to be able to sit and listen. I remember Nick saying how hard it was for him to relive his past and it seemed pretty hard for all of them. Even though us BSB fans feel we know a lot about the guys already, I think this film will make us understand even more. Can't wait! Get it out there, boys!

Wild & Free ABC Party!

After the documentary preview, I was ready to have dinner. Ended up getting steak again. I'm a meat and potatoes kind of girl.

Tomato, basil, mozzarella appetizer

Yum!

Soooo good!

After dinner, I went back to the cabin to put my ABC costume on and made my way to the Lido Deck to try and get a close spot. I wanted to be close for this one lol. Since Group A was having their concert with the guys at the time, I was able to get a pretty good spot to the right of the stage. I was concerned with how pushy it might be, but stuck it out and to my amazement it wasn't that bad.

I threw "caution" to the wind! My duct tape outfit.
I was anticipating seeing what each BSB would be wearing and was curious to see how Nick would pull off the pizza box idea he mentioned at my Chicago Nick & Knight VIP. Nick ended up having a towel wrapped around him instead (I'm not complaining lol). I'm thinking maybe the ABC costumes for them were thought of at the last minute so that's why the pizza box idea wasn't put in place...in Nick's um, place haha!

Brian had postage stamps all over him, Howie had Hersey's Kisses on him for his 100 kisses song (I got a Hersey's kiss from Howie!), Kevin was a luggage bag, and AJ was a concession stand complete with popcorn. I think Nick and AJ did the best jobs on their costumes and the other guys should have showed more skin! They all looked really great though! Most of my attention was focused on Nick and how his black underwear was peeking out the side of the towel lol. I couldn't have been the only one noticing that! They all looked really sexy! This almost topped the bachelorette party last year...almost.

If it fits, it ships...Brian!

I can't handle it!

Can I play the comfy game??? LOL

Howie!

Kevin!

That smile! No one should ever make this man frown!

He looks so manly here...

Having fun!

Ready, aim, fire!

It was a fun time being silly with BSB. Some of my favorite moments during this party was when Nelly's "Hot in Herre" was playing. A very appropriate song for the occasion and it's kind of my jam lol. Another fun part was where Nick was rapping just like he does at the Nick & Knight shows.

After a while, I moved my way up on the top deck where I watched the majority of the fashion show they had with the fans. I wish I would have gotten picked for this because I had the hardest time figuring out what I was going to do with my costume and in the end it worked out perfect! I also wanted one of the guys to see my costume. Still, everyone's costumes were great. Some creative, some risqué, some paid homage to BSB. It was neat to see all the different ways fans went about "anything but clothes."

Once the fashion show was over, I wanted to see if Nick would be taking any pictures. He ended up going straight inside. Probably for the best because his lack of clothes would have probably caused more aggressiveness lol. Can't blame him at all and I don't think he took many, if any, selfies with fans that night.

I did end up getting another picture with AJ that night! AJ had a line forming for pictures and that worked out wonderfully. Nick definitely needs to have a line too, but not sure why that wasn't done.

AJ's line was pretty long, but the wait went fast. After taking a picture for a friend, it was my turn! AJ was so friendly and it made for such a nice moment! Our picture was taken and then I was able to talk to him for a while. The first thing that popped out of my mouth was "You smell like popcorn." LOL at myself for being Captain Obvious but that is the first thing that came to mind. It was funny because AJ just shook his head and smiled. Then I said I wanted to tell him that I adore his family and whenever I see a picture of him and Ava my heart melts. They are such a perfect family! He said thank you and talked a little about his daughter.

Can't believe I have a shirtless BSB next to me!

About this time, I was kind of getting this feeling that the line was going to start getting pissed that I was talking to AJ since everyone else was just getting their picture and leaving so I ended up looking at the line and saying something like, "Well, I guess I'm going to get going...I'll see you soon." How stupid of me. I should have just kept talking to AJ and let him decide when he's sick of me lol. When I was walking away, AJ yelled to me "Yeah, you'll see me soon!" I think I turned back and waved. I hope he was referring to a solo tour of some sort because I enjoyed seeing the Johnny NoName show in Chicago and can't wait to hear some more solo songs from him.

He is such a loving dad in such an AJ way. I love it! I hope I didn't make him homesick, but it just came to my mind to say. I hope to have a family like his one day, or any of the other guys for that matter so I always enjoy seeing their family pictures.

AJ also helped me accomplish my goal of having one of the guys see my costume! We both look silly together in our ABC outfits!

After trying to get a picture with Howie and not succeeding, I made my way to Kevin's picture line. Kevin took so much time taking pictures with everyone, but since I was towards the back of the line I ended up not getting a picture. He must have been exhausted so I definitely understood.

The party came to an end and I made my way to the never ending pizza line. It was sad knowing that no BSB activities would be planned for tomorrow and that the cruise is basically over.

The Next Day

I woke up early to make sure I could have breakfast and leave the ship as soon as I could for my 2 p.m. flight to Chicago. I probably could have afforded staying on the ship another hour, but it was worth it for me to have peace of mind.

I was able to see Brian and Leighanne leaving the ship and get into their van that would take them to MIA. AJ was also outside waiting, but I didn't want to bother any of them.

After taking a cab to the airport, I thought about trying to see if I could find any of the guys, but was tired and felt like I didn't want to bother them because I'm sure they felt even more tired than I did and that's practically unimaginable. I did end up seeing one of the bodyguards and heard about Nick and the other guys being there, but I felt like giving them their space. They did end up taking pictures with fans.

I waited a while to check in my luggage and got some Wendy's. Seemed like it took forever to board the plane, so I was browsing some of my pictures and video while waiting and probably looked like a giddy mess.

The flight back was fine, except the lady next to me kept coughing and then it was time to get my luggage and take my taxi back home. I won't go into too much with the taxi adventure except in saying it was the same taxi company I used to get to O'Hare and this time they had an unmarked car with the "check engine" light on. Made it back home, but it's always an adventure.

I will admit that I was an emotional wreck when I came home because I was upset about the cab ride, missing Nick, missing BSB, missing Miami and the Bahamas, and basically back to the same ol' crap to put it blunt. I realized just how sucky my life is without BSB and the BSB withdrawals began quickly! Luckily, I was able to take two weeks off of work so I had a whole week to reminisce and piece myself back together.

I am still going through Backstreet withdrawals, but I'm so glad I was able to go on BSB Cruise 2014 and I look forward to anything BSB related soon...hopefully really soon...and in Chicago lol. Until then, I have my BSB memories :)
